Margaret McGrath FMSJ 

 

Sister Margaret McGrath FMSJ, BA MA, is a member of the Franciscan Missionaries of St Joseph. She served on her Congregation’s General Council for a number of years and is now Chair of Formation for the UK and the Netherlands for her Congregation. She was for many years Director of the Franciscan Studies Programme at the FISC and also served for several years as Vice Principal. She is now Director of the Ecumenical Training Programme in Spiritual Direction.

Sister taught for eleven years on the three month Residential Spiritual Direction Programme -the Franciscan Internship Programme – which was held at the FISC.

Sister has many years of experience in accompanying others in Spiritual Direction and in the giving of Directed/Guided Retreats.

Fields of Interest

Her main areas of interest are Franciscan History, Franciscan Spirituality, Franciscan Third Order Regular and Secular, and she has written many published articles on these subjects. Her primary field of research is the Third Order Regular.

She is currently researching a book on her Congregation’s Foundress, Alice Ingham.
